Made to measure bridles
A bespoke service for you and your horse
I'm best known for my bespoke bridles - for all breeds and sizes of equine, from happy hacking ponies to top class competition horses, to working Shire horses. Each bridle is created to the client's exact design and specification, and with the comfort of the horse coming first and foremost.
I use only the best quality English bridle leather and English-made buckles to craft my bridles, which are completely hand cut, hand sewn and made using traditional saddlery skills and techniques. Top-quality English bridlework in the truest sense.
Each piece is priced individually, as no two bridles I make are the same.

What to expect when you have a new bridle made
Before I can start making your new bridle, I need to visit you and your horse to take some measurements! This session usually takes around an hour, it will consist of looking at how your current bridle fits, and what needs to be adjusted so that the fit of your new bridle is absolutely perfect. I will bring with me samples of leather and thread colours, as well as different styles and decorations for you to choose from.
I then take your horse's measurements back to my workshop and make your bridle, after which I will visit your yard second time to carry out a final fitting. This consists of a static fitting, as well as a ridden fitting, so that I can see how the bridle sits once a contact is taken up and whether any final adjustments are required. Finally, I'll talk you through how best to care for your new bridle and keep the leather looking beautiful even after the bridle has been loved and used!
Whilst I don't currently carry a range of sample bridle components for you to try on the day before placing your order for a bespoke CK Leatherworks bridle, this is a request that has been fed back to me and I am working on developing a more extensive 'try before you buy' bridle fitting kit in 2024 - watch this space!
